Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler treatments at Arvé Aesthetics in Greenville, SC are designed to restore natural-looking volume, soften lines, and refine facial contours through precise, anatomy-guided injection technique. Every treatment plan is developed by a physician and tailored to the individual patient’s facial structure, skin quality, and aesthetic goals.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most commonly formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and plays a key role in maintaining hydration and volume. As the face ages, natural HA production declines and volume redistributes, contributing to the appearance of lines, folds, hollowing, and changes in facial proportion. Modern filler formulations are engineered to integrate smoothly into the tissue, move naturally with facial expression, and produce results that develop gradually and look appropriate to the individual.

At Arvé Aesthetics, providers select from a curated set of filler brands chosen for their clinical track record, range of formulations, and suitability across different treatment areas.

Juvederm Collection: a smooth and versatile HA line well suited for lip enhancement, softening nasolabial folds, and restoring midface volume. Formulations are designed to integrate naturally into tissue and move with facial expression.

Restylane Line: a precision-engineered line with specialized formulations designed for contouring, definition, and natural-looking correction. Available products include Restylane Kysse for the lips, Contour for cheek definition, Lyft for volumizing and lifting, and Defyne for deeper folds and chin and jawline support.

Evolysse Injectable HA: a next-generation HA technology designed for a soft, natural result with minimal swelling and durable longevity, available in multiple formulations suited for a range of treatment areas.

What It Addresses

Dermal fillers are versatile and can be used to address a wide range of aesthetic concerns:

  • Lip volume and definition: enhancement of lip volume, shape, and border definition, from subtle refinement to fuller correction
  • Smiles Lines and Folds: softening of nasolabial folds and marionette lines for a smoother, more rested appearance
  • Cheek and midface volume: restoration of volume loss in the cheeks to reduce hollowing and support the overlying tissue
  • Temple hollowing: restoration of volume in the temporal region for improved facial balance and contour
  • Chin and Jawline structure:: addition of definition and support along the chin and jaw for a more balanced profile
  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty: subtle reshaping of the nose using filler to refine the bridge, soften a dorsal bump, improve tip definition, or improve overall nasal symmetry, without surgery or downtime
  • Overall Facial Harmony: improvement of symmetry and proportion across multiple areas when treated as part of a comprehensive plan

What to Expect

Consultation

A thorough consultation with one of our providers is required before treatment. The provider will assess the patient’s facial anatomy, review skin quality and volume distribution, discuss aesthetic goals in detail, and develop a treatment plan appropriate to the individual. Realistic expectations and an honest discussion of what filler can and cannot achieve are central to this conversation.

The Procedure

Filler is administered in a private, closed-door treatment room using a fine needle or cannula depending on the area being treated. All filler products used at Arvé Aesthetics contain lidocaine to support comfort throughout the session. When clinically appropriate, ultrasound guidance is used in higher-risk anatomical areas to enhance safety and precision. Most patients find treatment well tolerated with minimal discomfort.

Duration

Most filler appointments take between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the number and complexity of area(s) being treated.

Results

Results are visible immediately following treatment. Initial swelling is common and typically resolves within a few days, at which point the final result becomes more apparent. Longevity varies by product and treatment area but typically ranges from 9 months to 24 months.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

At Arvé Aesthetics, most filler patients are treated across two appointments rather than one. This reflects a conservative, precision-focused philosophy: swelling in the days following the first session can obscure how the filler has integrated, and adding more product before that settles risks overcorrection or imprecise placement. Allowing the tissue to stabilize before the second appointment gives the provider an accurate picture of the result and ensures that any refinements are made with intention rather than assumption. Some areas, particularly the chin and deeper folds such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, can often be completed in a single session depending on the degree of correction needed and how the tissue responds. For most other areas, including the lips, cheeks, and nose, a two-appointment approach is the standard at this practice. Maintenance treatments are recommended as results begin to diminish, with timing dependent on the product used and the individual patient’s metabolism.

A two-session approach is reserved for lip treatments and cases requiring a larger number of syringes, such as full-face balancing or comprehensive jawline work. Lips involve significant post-treatment swelling and require a degree of finesse that makes a staged approach the safer and more precise path. High-volume treatments benefit from the same logic: assessing integration at an intermediate stage allows the provider to place the second round of product with greater accuracy than treating everything at once.

Maintenance treatments are recommended as results begin to diminish, with timing dependent on the product used and the individual patient’s metabolism.

Aftercare

To support optimal results and minimize the risk of side effects following treatment:

  • Avoid touching the treated area: refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours to avoid displacement
  • Stay well hydrated: adequate hydration supports skin health and complements the water-attracting properties of hyaluronic acid
  • Avoid strenuous activities: exercise and activities that significantly elevate heart rate or blood flow to the face should be avoided for 24 to 48 hours
  • Protect from heat and sun: direct sun exposure, saunas, hot tubs, and tanning beds should be avoided for at least one week following treatment
  • Avoid aggressive skin treatments: exfoliating treatments, facial massage, and similar services should be deferred while the tissue is settling
  • Monitor the result: contact the practice if unexpected changes, asymmetry, or skin changes develop following treatment

Refined, Not Redone

Dermal filler treatments at Arvé Aesthetics are performed exclusively by physicians and conducted with the clinical rigor, anatomical precision, and individualized planning that physician-led care affords. Patients can expect an honest assessment of their goals and a treatment approach designed to complement their natural features rather than alter them.
