IV Therapy

Hydration and nutrient repletion are foundational to how the body recovers, functions, and feels day to day. At Arvé Aesthetics in Greenville, SC, IV therapy is offered as a physician directed service, with formulations built around what the science actually supports rather than trend driven ingredient lists. Each session is administered in our private IV lounge under medical oversight, with a formulation selected to match the patient’s specific need.

What Is IV Therapy?

IV therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system for more complete absorption. At Arvé Aesthetics, formulations are kept intentionally focused. Doses are selected to meet common areas of depletion rather than to maximize ingredient count, and every formulation is reviewed by our medical team before it is offered to patients. This approach favors clinically reasonable dosing over the “more is better” formulations often marketed elsewhere.

What It Addresses

  • Hydration: supports fluid balance for patients who are dehydrated, fatigued, or recovering from illness, travel, or physical exertion
  • Micronutrient repletion: replenishes common vitamin and mineral deficiencies, including B vitamins, vitamin C, and key electrolytes
  • Recovery support: may support recovery after intense exercise, travel, or periods of physical stress
  • Cellular energy support: NAD+ infusion is offered as a distinct option for patients interested in cellular energy and metabolic support

How It Works

Vitamin and mineral formulations are selected based on the patient’s goals and reviewed medical history. Ingredients are combined in physician approved ratios designed to support absorption and comfort during infusion, rather than combined for marketing appeal. NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is offered separately from standard vitamin and mineral bags, since it is a coenzyme rather than a vitamin, and is dosed and infused according to its own protocol.

About NAD+

NAD+ is a coenzyme found in every cell of the body, involved in energy production and cellular repair processes. NAD+ levels are understood to decline with age. Infusion therapy is offered as a way to support cellular energy and metabolic function. Because NAD+ can cause infusion related sensations such as flushing, chest tightness, or cramping, it is infused at a controlled rate and closely monitored by our clinical team throughout the session, with the rate adjusted based on how the patient tolerates the infusion.

What to Expect

Before Your Visit

IV therapy does not require an in-person consultation prior to treatment. After booking, patients complete a medical questionnaire that is reviewed by our clinical team ahead of the appointment. This review confirms there are no contraindications to treatment and ensures the selected formulation is appropriate for the patient’s goals.

The Lounge Experience

Treatment takes place in the Arvé IV lounge, a single, private room designed for quiet and comfort. Lighting is kept low, the space is calm and unhurried, and reclining chairs and blankets are available throughout the session.

The Procedure

Vitals are checked before treatment begins. A small IV catheter is placed, typically in the arm, and the selected formulation is infused while the patient rests in the lounge. Our NP and RN team administers all IV sessions under physician oversight, and vitals are checked again at the end of the session to help ensure safety throughout treatment.

Duration

Most IV therapy sessions take approximately 60 minutes. NAD+ infusions may run longer, as the rate is adjusted gradually based on patient comfort.

Results

Many patients report feeling more hydrated and energized shortly after treatment, though individual response varies. NAD+ related benefits, such as improved mental clarity or energy, are typically reported over a series of sessions rather than after a single infusion.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Frequency depends on the individual and the goal of treatment. Some patients use IV therapy occasionally, around travel, illness, or periods of physical exertion, while others prefer a more regular cadence for ongoing support. NAD+ is often recommended as a short series of sessions to build cellular support over time, with maintenance sessions spaced afterward. Your provider will recommend a cadence based on your goals at consultation.

Who Is Not a Good Candidate?

  • Certain cardiac or kidney conditions: patients with congestive heart failure, kidney disease, or fluid restrictions may not be appropriate candidates for IV fluid volumes
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding: IV therapy, including NAD+, is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Electrolyte imbalances: patients with known electrolyte abnormalities should be evaluated before treatment
  • G6PD deficiency: patients with this condition require modified formulations, as certain high dose vitamin C infusions are contraindicated
  • Active infection or illness requiring medical evaluation: patients experiencing significant illness should be evaluated by a physician before receiving IV therapy

Aftercare

  • Stay hydrated: continue drinking water after your session to support ongoing fluid balance
  • Monitor the injection site: mild bruising or tenderness at the IV site is normal and typically resolves within a few days
  • Expect infusion related sensations to resolve: NAD+ patients may notice flushing or mild discomfort during infusion that resolves once the session ends
  • Resume normal activity: most patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately following treatment

IV Therapy FAQs

Is IV therapy safe?

IV therapy is administered under medical oversight following a review of your health history. Formulations are kept within clinically reasonable dosing ranges, and treatment is not recommended for patients with certain medical conditions.

What makes Arvé Aesthetics’ approach different?

Formulations are physician reviewed and intentionally kept within evidence supported dosing, rather than combining as many ingredients as possible. The goal is to meet a specific need, not to maximize ingredient count.

Can I combine NAD+ with a vitamin and mineral bag?

NAD+ is infused separately due to its distinct rate and monitoring requirements. Your provider can help you determine whether combining sessions or spacing them apart is more appropriate for you.

Balance, Not Excess

At Arvé Aesthetics, IV therapy is approached the way the rest of our practice is approached, with restraint, clinical judgment, and a focus on what the body actually needs. Every formulation is reviewed by our medical team, every session is monitored from start to finish, and every patient rests in a space built for quiet rather than spectacle.
