Arvé Aesthetics offers a physician-directed medical weight loss program through Arvé Weight & Wellness, designed for patients who are ready to approach weight loss through a structured, evidence-based medical model. Located in Greenville, SC, the program combines GLP-1 medication therapy with personalized nutrition guidance, fitness planning, and ongoing physician oversight to support sustainable, long-term results.
Why Arvé Weight & Wellness?
Many GLP-1 programs available today are medication-only services: a prescription is issued, a shipment arrives, and the patient is largely left to navigate the process without clinical support. Arvé Weight & Wellness was built around a different premise.
Every patient in the program is enrolled in a structured, physician-directed model that includes registered dietitian support, a personalized fitness plan, and monthly check-ins with a provider who knows their history. Medication is one tool in a comprehensive approach, not the whole of it. Dose adjustments, side effect management, and progress evaluation happen through an ongoing relationship with the clinical team, not through an app or automated refill system.
The program is also designed to reward the work patients put in. As patients reach meaningful weight loss milestones, they unlock savings toward aesthetic services at Arvé Aesthetics, including neurotoxin, dermal filler, Sculptra, PRP, and hair restoration treatments. These milestone perks are one way the program acknowledges that real, sustained progress deserves recognition beyond the scale.
Every element of the program, from the titration schedule to the nutrition framework to the milestone structure, has been developed deliberately. Patients who enroll should expect to be guided, supported, and held accountable at every stage.
What is GLP-1 Medical Weight Loss?
GLP-1 medical weight loss is a physician-supervised treatment program centered on glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist medications. These medications address the physiological factors that make weight loss difficult, including appetite dysregulation, impaired satiety signaling, and metabolic inefficiency. Rather than relying on willpower alone, GLP-1 therapy works at a hormonal and neurological level to support meaningful changes in body composition when combined with appropriate nutritional and lifestyle strategies.
With Arvé Weight & Wellness, medication is one component of a multidisciplinary program that includes physician evaluation, registered dietitian support, a personalized fitness plan, and structured ongoing monitoring. The program is led by our physicians and is designed to be medically appropriate, individually tailored, and sustainable over time.
What Is Addressed
The program is appropriate for patients experiencing:
- Persistent excess weight: difficulty losing or maintaining weight loss despite prior dietary or exercise efforts
- Elevated BMI with health concerns: including a BMI of 27 or greater with weight-related conditions, or a BMI of 30 or greater regardless of comorbidities
- Appetite dysregulation: chronic hunger, food cravings, or difficulty feeling full after meals
- Metabolic health concerns: including prediabetes, insulin resistance, elevated blood sugar, or high cholesterol
- Cardiovascular risk factors: including hypertension associated with excess weight Inflammatory conditions: linked to adiposity or poor metabolic health
How It Works
GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic the action of naturally occurring hormones in the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system. They reduce the frequency and intensity of hunger signals, slow gastric emptying to prolong satiety, and improve insulin secretion in response to meals. Over time, these effects support a meaningful reduction in caloric intake without the chronic hunger that typically accompanies restrictive dieting.
The medications used in the program are sourced through a licensed compounding pharmacy and are prescribed and monitored by our physician team. Dosing is titrated gradually to minimize side effects and adjusted based on each patient’s response and tolerance.
When combined with the nutritional and fitness components of the program, GLP-1 therapy supports fat loss while helping to preserve lean muscle mass, which is essential for long-term metabolic health.
What To Expect
Consultation
Each patient begins with a comprehensive physician guided evaluation. The consultation includes a review of weight history, metabolic health, relevant laboratory values, current medications, and lifestyle factors. The team will assess whether GLP-1 therapy is medically appropriate and will discuss the full structure of the program, including the nutrition and fitness components. Patients are encouraged to bring any prior lab work or records that may be relevant to their care.
The Program
Following the initial evaluation, each patient receives a personalized treatment plan that includes GLP-1 medication prescribed at an individually appropriate starting dose, a registered dietitian consultation to develop a sustainable nutritional strategy, and a three day class pass to OrangeTheory Fitness to start or continue a sustainable fitness plan. Medication is obtained through a compounding pharmacy and is billed separately from program fees.
Monthly in-person visits are required for the first 90 days of the program. These visits include a provider check-in, weight verification, medication review, and dose adjustment as indicated. After the initial 90-day period, patients who meet clinical criteria may transition to telehealth visits for ongoing monitoring. After 90 days, all in-person visits include a complimentary mini Trilift face lift as part of the program experience to minimize the effects of weight loss on face structure.
Patients who reach specific weight loss milestones become eligible for milestone-based savings on select aesthetic services, including neurotoxin, dermal filler, Sculptra, PRP, and hair restoration treatments. Weight must be verified in-office to qualify for milestone perks, and redemptions are subject to program terms.
Duration
The initial consultation appointment is approximately 45 minutes. Monthly follow-up visits are typically 20 minutes. The program itself is ongoing and is designed to support long-term weight management rather than a fixed treatment course.
Results
Most patients begin to notice a meaningful reduction in appetite and cravings within the first few weeks of treatment. Weight loss results vary based on individual metabolism, adherence to the nutritional and fitness components of the program, and medication response. Many patients achieve a 10 to 20 percent reduction in body weight over the course of the program when medication is combined with dietary and lifestyle changes. Results are gradual and intended to be sustained over time, not rapid or temporary.
Improvements in associated health markers, including blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and inflammatory indicators, may occur concurrently with weight loss.
Who Is Not a Good Candidate?
GLP-1 therapy may not be appropriate for patients who:
- Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma: GLP-1 medications carry a contraindication in this setting Have a history of multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2): a relative contraindication to this class of medication
- Have a history of pancreatitis: current or prior pancreatitis requires careful evaluation before prescribing
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding: GLP-1 medications are not indicated during pregnancy or lactation
- Have severe gastrointestinal disease: including gastroparesis or inflammatory bowel disease, which may be worsened by delayed gastric emptying Are seeking medication-only treatment: patients who are not willing to engage with the nutrition and fitness components of the program are not a good fit for the Arvé Weight & Wellness model
- Have a BMI below 27 without metabolic health concerns: candidacy will be determined at consultation
A full medical history review is conducted at the initial consultation to confirm appropriateness for the program.
Ongoing Program Guidance
Patients enrolled in the program are asked to follow these guidelines to support their results:
- Attend scheduled monthly visits: in-person visits during the first 90 days are a program requirement; telehealth visits are available thereafter for eligible patients
- Engage with the nutrition plan: the registered dietitian consultation is a core component of the program and should be completed early in the treatment course
- Prioritize protein intake: adequate protein supports muscle preservation during active weight loss and is a primary focus of the nutritional guidance
- Follow a fitness plan: resistance-based exercise is emphasized to support lean muscle mass and metabolic efficiency
- Communicate side effects promptly: nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, and other side effects are common early in treatment and typically improve with dose titration; patients should contact the practice if side effects are persistent or severe
- Avoid rapid dose escalation: the titration schedule is designed to minimize side effects and should not be accelerated without physician guidance
- Plan ahead for medication continuity: GLP-1 medications are obtained through a compounding pharmacy; patients should communicate with the practice in advance to avoid supply interruptions
Arvé Weight & Wellness FAQs
How much weight can patients typically expect to lose?
Weight loss varies by individual. When GLP-1 therapy is combined with nutritional and fitness guidance, many patients achieve a 10 to 20 percent reduction in body weight over the course of the program. Patients who engage consistently with all components of the program tend to see the most meaningful and lasting results.
Will weight return if medication is stopped?
Weight regain is possible after discontinuing GLP-1 therapy, particularly if the lifestyle habits developed during the program are not maintained. This reflects the hormonal nature of obesity and is not a failure of the patient. For some patients, long-term medication use is a medically appropriate strategy, similar to the ongoing management of other chronic conditions. This will be discussed in detail at the consultation.
Is the medication the same as brand-name GLP-1 injections?
Arvé Weight & Wellness uses GLP-1 medications sourced through a licensed compounding pharmacy. The active compound is the same class of medication as commercially available GLP-1 therapies. Compounded formulations allow for individualized dosing and are prescribed and supervised by our physician team.
Are there side effects?
The most common side effects include nausea, decreased appetite, mild gastrointestinal discomfort, and fatigue, particularly during the early titration phase. These effects typically diminish as the body adjusts to the medication. A slow and structured titration schedule is used to minimize side effects throughout the program.
Does the program include laboratory testing?
Laboratory evaluation may be recommended at the initial consultation based on individual health history. Ongoing lab monitoring is coordinated through the program as clinically indicated. Patients are encouraged to bring any existing recent lab work to their initial visit.
Is this program available via telehealth?
In-person visits are required for the first 90 days of the program. After that initial period, patients who meet clinical criteria may transition to telehealth for ongoing monitoring. The initial consultation must be completed in person at our Greenville, SC location.
