Dr. Joseph Laterza is the Visionary behind and Co-Founder of Arvé Aesthetics, where he combines his background in medicine, dermatology, and aesthetics to create a practice focused on personalized, physician-led care. His passion for aesthetics began while working in dermatology prior to medical school, where he saw firsthand how confidence and skin health could truly change how people feel about themselves. At Arvé, his goal is to offer services that fill gaps in care within the community, blending medical expertise with aesthetic innovation and a luxury patient experience.
Dr. Laterza’s favorite treatments are dermal fillers, with a special focus on facial balancing and lip enhancement. He enjoys the artistry of aesthetics and creating natural, balanced results that help patients look refreshed and confident while still looking like themselves.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Laterza joined the military after high school before pursuing his medical career. He attended Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency at Prisma Health in Greer, South Carolina, where he was part of the inaugural residency class and served as Chief Resident.
Outside of Arvé, Dr. Laterza enjoys adventure and the outdoors. On the weekends, he would love to be hiking or running, but more realistically you can find him at the playground at Unity Park with his daughter. He also enjoys festivals, dinners with friends, and local community events around Greenville. One of his favorite Greenville spots is Paris Mountain.

Dr. Francesco Laterza is the Medical Director and Co-Founder of Arvé Aesthetics, where his background in internal medicine and medical education shapes an approach to aesthetic care that is as thoughtful as it is precise. A self-described perfectionist with a deep eye for symmetry and proportion, Dr. Laterza is drawn to aesthetics for the same reason he was drawn to medicine: a genuine love for human connection and the desire to help people feel seen and confident in their own skin.
Rather than naming a single favorite treatment, Dr. Laterza’s favorite moments are when a patient sees their result for the first time, or returns for a follow-up and walks in smiling (though patients will note he is particularly gifted when it comes to cheek and temple filler). He is particularly passionate about patient education, taking time to walk patients through how neurotoxins interact with facial muscles, how collagen is stimulated through laser treatments, and how biostimulators like Sculptra and PRP work over time. It is a natural extension of his background as a medical educator, and it is where his clinical and aesthetic worlds meet most naturally.
Dr. Laterza was raised in Pequannock, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Drew University, then earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, where he graduated as class Valedictorian. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, including a Chief Residency year, before bringing his expertise to Greenville.
Outside of Arvé, Dr. Laterza is happiest spending time with his daughter Aspen, cooking, reading, and seeking out new restaurants, plays, and travel experiences. In Greenville, one of his favorite spots is M. Judson Booksellers, a natural fit for someone who approaches both medicine and aesthetics as a craft worth studying deeply.
Beauty Tip: SPF and consistent medical-grade skincare are non-negotiable. Think of it like your dental routine: you see the dentist twice a year, but you brush every day in between. Aesthetic treatments work the same way. What you do between appointments is what protects and sustains your results.
Fun Fact: Despite being deeply analytical and science-driven, Dr. Laterza has a genuine fascination with astrology and finds the patterns and accuracies a little too interesting to dismiss.
